Meet the Team
Peta Flanigan - Director/Founder
Peta began writing many years ago and now has over twenty books and stories in print. Originally from the lower Blue Mountains, Peta now calls Perth home and has for the past twenty-three years. Peta has published stories with traditional publishing companies, but now chooses to publish her books with Gumnut Press.

She’s a proud member of the Romance Writers of Australia, Australian Society of Authors, the Peter Cowan Writers Centre and has a Certificate in Romance Writing.
Under the name Polly Holmes, she writes paranormal and culinary cozies immersed with laughter, fun, mystery with a dash of romance to sweeten the pot. Polly's repertoire also includes paranormal romance and romantic suspense full of action, danger, and hot and spicy sex on page that sizzles between the sheets. Polly Holmes also writes contemporary romance, romantic suspense under the name P.L. Harris. Regardless of which the pen name she uses, her books are rich in storyline and location with characters that stay with you long after you turn the last page.

She has been a finalist in several awards including but not limited to The Romance Writers of Australia Sapphire Award, the Davitt Awards, a prestigious award run by the Sisters of Crime Australia, the Nashville Silver Falchion Awards and was named one of the top ten finalist in the 2022 Cozy Mystery Tribe Book of the Year Awards.

Peta won silver in the 2020 ROAR! National Business Awards in the Writer/Blogger/Author category and for the second year in a row, she was a finalist in the 2021 ROAR! National Business Awards winning bronze in the Writer/Blogger/Author category with Gumnut Press taking out the gold in the Hustle and Heart category. In 2023, for her contribution to writing and publishing, Peta is one of four finalists in the Women in Literature category of the International Women Changing the World Award presented by Dr. Terarai Trent.

Bursting with passion to share her writing and publishing knowledge with the wider community, Peta began Gumnut Press to inspire and nurture authors, both established and emerging.
She is on a mission to share the power of storytelling with the world.
Carolyn and Guy de Ridder -Admin/Graphic Designer and Promotional Video Producer
With over 40 years experience in graphic design and a genuine love of anything book related, Russell Ink is run by the husband and wife team of Carolyn & Guy de Ridder.
They specialise in custom made book covers and video trailers and love working with both authors and publishers. At the moment they’re taking on only a small amount of select clients by appointment only and are thrilled to be working with Gumnut Press.

Lisa Edward

Lisa Edward is the author of The Songbird trilogy, the novels Ripped and Broken, the novella Duty of Care and a contributor to the collation of short stories in Hook & Ladder 69.

While Lisa has called Melbourne Australia home for her entire life, she has lived and worked in England, and travelled through most parts of Europe and the United States.
She loves nothing more than spending time with her beautiful daughter, or curling up into the early hours of the morning with a great novel.

Dannielle Line
Proofreader
Dannielle Line is the author of the Trinket Bay series, A Nose for Trouble, An Ear to the Ground, and A Twist in the Tail writing as D. D. Line. She is an award-winning author and has short stories published in several anthologies and publications throughout Australia.
Dannielle is an avid reader and loves most genres, especially paranormal, suspense, and romance. While she’s lived in Australia all her life, she’s travelled and adventured in many lands through the pages of a book.
When not writing her own stories, she loves to help other authors polish theirs. She’s proofread and copy edited for both publishers and Indie authors since 2016.
